A poche centinaia di metri in linea d'aria dai palazzi della via Cassia c'è una selvaggia forra del torrente Cremera dove all'interno di pareti di tufo a picco sul fiume si trova ciò che resta delle antiche terme romane note come Bagni della Regina

A few hundred meters as the crow flies from the buildings on Via Cassia there is a wild gorge of the Cremera stream where inside tuff walls overlooking the river there is what remains of the ancient Roman baths known as Bagni della Regina

Ci sono vari modi per raggiungere questo sito fluviale, io ho scelto di passare per la via Francigena e deviare costeggiando la riva del Cremera. Un percorso di circa 3 km da farsi con stivaloni e qualche attrezzo per aprire il passaggio fra i rovi. Di per sé non è un luogo eccezionale ma è il viaggio a renderlo interessante.

There are several ways to reach this river site. I chose to take the Via Francigena and detour along the banks of the Cremera. It's a roughly 3 km hike requiring hiking boots and some tools to clear the way through the brambles. It's not an exceptional place in itself, but the journey itself makes it interesting.
Non andate se avete un cane di taglia grande. A fine percorso, per poter ricongiungerci con il sentiero principale, dopo avrei percorso il ruscello, ci siamo ritrovati con un “cancello” di fili elettrici. Per fortuna abbiamo preso in braccio il cane a siamo riusciti a passare. Pe…Altre recensioni
Non andate se avete un cane di taglia grande. A fine percorso, per poter ricongiungerci con il sentiero principale, dopo avrei percorso il ruscello, ci siamo ritrovati con un “cancello” di fili elettrici. Per fortuna abbiamo preso in braccio il cane a siamo riusciti a passare. Peccato perché il panorama merita, ma il sentiero è messo male e per proseguire abbiamo dovuto attraversare il ruscello con i piedi nell’acqua.Traduzione
Don't go if you have a large dog. At the end of the trail, in order to rejoin the main path, after I would have walked along the stream, we found ourselves with a "gate" of electric wires. Luckily we picked up the dog and managed to get through. It's a shame because the view is worth it, but the trail is in bad condition and to continue we had to cross the stream with our feet in the water.
